Baremetrics + Chargebee
Overview
Chargebee runs your billing. Baremetrics connects to it with a read-only API key and brings your Chargebee subscriptions together with the other tools you already use, like Stripe, QuickBooks and HubSpot. From one set of numbers, you can track growth, see why customers cancel and plan what's next.
What Baremetrics does with your Chargebee data
- Unifies your billing. Combine Chargebee with Stripe, Braintree, Recurly, App Store or Google Play revenue, and get one set of metrics instead of a tab per tool.
- Tracks growth accurately. MRR, ARR, churn and LTV are based on what customers actually pay after discounts and coupons, and cancellations count the moment they happen.
- Shows why customers cancel. Cancellation Insights collects cancellation reasons, shows how much revenue each one costs you, and helps you save customers with retention offers.
- Plans cash flow. Add QuickBooks Online or Xero, and Forecast+ projects revenue and expenses from the same numbers.
- Puts revenue where your team works. Sync revenue data to HubSpot contacts, send alerts to Slack, or ask AI assistants about your metrics through the Baremetrics MCP.

How does the Chargebee connection work?
- Create a Read-Only: All API key in Chargebee. Chargebee's guide explains how: How to create API keys.
- Note your Chargebee site subdomain, for example yourcompany.chargebee.com.
- In Baremetrics, open Settings, then Data Connections, choose Chargebee and enter the key and subdomain.
- Check your product catalog version. Baremetrics syncs with Chargebee Product Catalog 2.0 by default. If you're on Product Catalog 1.0, contact the Baremetrics success team and they'll enable it for your account.
- Add your other sources with Add Connection on the same page, if you bill through more than one system.

What are the limits of the Chargebee integration?
- MRR can differ from Chargebee's own figures. Baremetrics reflects the amount the customer actually paid; some platforms show the original plan amount before discounts.
- Cancellations count immediately. If you cancel customers at the end of their paid term and want them kept active until then, ask support to enable it for your account.
- Paused subscriptions are not active. Only customers who are actively paying count in MRR and customer totals.
- Product Catalog 1.0 needs a manual switch by the success team; 2.0 is the default.
- Recover isn't available for Chargebee. Automated failed-payment follow-up works with Stripe, Braintree and Recurly.
- Combined sources blend together. When you add other billing sources, not every graph can be broken out by individual source.

Questions
What analytics tools work with Chargebee to report MRR, churn and LTV?+−
Baremetrics connects directly to Chargebee and reports MRR, ARR, customer and revenue churn, LTV, ARPU, upgrades and downgrades from your Chargebee subscriptions. It works as the analytics layer on top of Chargebee, so billing stays where it is, and it can combine Chargebee with Stripe, Braintree, Recurly, Apple and Google revenue.
How do I connect Chargebee to Baremetrics?+−
Create a Read-Only: All API key in Chargebee, then in Baremetrics go to Settings, Data Connections, choose Chargebee and enter the key with your Chargebee site subdomain, such as yourcompany.chargebee.com.
Why is my MRR different in Baremetrics and Chargebee?+−
Usually because of discounts and coupons. Baremetrics reflects the amount the customer actually paid, while some platforms show the original plan amount before discounts. Cancellations also leave MRR as soon as they happen in Baremetrics, unless support enables end-of-term cancellations for your account.
Does Baremetrics support Chargebee Product Catalog 1.0?+−
Yes. Baremetrics syncs with Product Catalog 2.0 by default. If you use Product Catalog 1.0, contact the Baremetrics success team and they will enable it for your account.
Can I combine Chargebee with Stripe or other billing data?+−
Yes. After your first source is connected, use Add Connection on the Data Connections page to bring in Stripe, Braintree, Recurly or other sources. Their data is combined into one set of metrics, although not every graph can be broken out by individual source.
How are paused and cancelled Chargebee subscriptions counted?+−
Paused subscriptions are not counted as active, so they are excluded from MRR and customer counts. Cancelled subscriptions are reflected immediately, which gives a faster view of churn.
Can Baremetrics show why my Chargebee customers cancel?+−
Yes. Cancellation Insights works with Chargebee. It collects each customer's reason for cancelling, shows the revenue lost to each reason, and lets you offer retention deals before they go.
